Meet the Teachers  at Smith Elementary School (Burlington, North Carolina)

Connie Vickers My name is Connie Vickers and I teach art at Marvin B. Elementary School in Burlington, North Carolina. For those of you who don’t know Burlington, it is about 20 minutes from Greensboro, where I was born. I graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1989 with a Fine Art Degree and then went back for my teaching certificate the next year. The kids are incredible and I really enjoy my job. I started my career in middle school, in an inner city area of South Carolina and know that some teaching jobs offer very different challenges from the ones I face at work. I have great support at my school from the administration and staff and an incredible PTA. There are always challenges, but life teaching art is good. Send compliment
