I have been teaching art in Sparta since 1991. I teach sixth and eighth grade classes and I am the advisor to the Art Club. I really enjoy teaching at this age level and I like the fact that I am in contact with different grades. They have so much energy! I think keeping a sense of humor is a very important asset for a middle school teacher. Treating them like equals helps as well. What you give to the students you get back threefold!
I have two wonderful kids who are in graduate school (twins) and a really supportive husband. Time with them is precious. |
