I am so excited to be teaching art at Daniel Boone Elementary! I have 27 years of teaching experience: 4 years teaching children with learning and behavior disorders, 5 years teaching preschool special education and the past 18 years teaching elementary art. Teaching learning strategies to children with special needs and observing the motivation of project/play-based learning for children in preschool has helped me see the benefit of focusing on process over product. Several years ago, I started transitioning my art class to a choice-based, TAB (teaching artistic behavior) classroom.
I have been a mural artist for the past 23 years with over 25 paintings at Richmond church of Christ, in schools, businesses and individual homes. |
