Tanya Myre
My name is Tanya Myre and this is my 9th year teaching in Troy. I came from Hazel Park School District, where I taught for 10 years. I've also taught in many other art programs since receiving my degree. My experiences thus far have allowed me to work with all different kinds of children, in many different areas, which has given me strength as a teacher. I'm so excited to be working in Troy where I can continue to grow as an educator, as well as share my love for art with your children.
On a more perso ... read morenal note, I graduated from Western Michigan University in 2000, where I earned my bachelors degree in Art Education. I have 2 daughters who attend/attended Troy Schools. I recently became a Nana to my granddaughter, Violet. Some of my hobbies include: spending time with my family, boating, traveling, going to art fairs/craft shows, baking, and of course creating my own art :)
I have taught at many of the elementary's within Troy Schools. This year I teach at Costello Elementary and Hamilton Elementary. I service all the students at Costello and only 5 classes at Hamilton.
Art has always held a special place inside of me. For as long as I can remember, I've enjoyed any and all areas of art. Because of this, I have always known how important the arts are in our children's lives. I'm super excited to be working with your children this year and being a part of their lives. I'm hoping by the end of the school year, your children will have artistically grown, hold a deeper appreciation for visual art and be inspired to create.
Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up. ~Pablo Picasso
