Jana Oritz
Hello, my name is Ms. Jana Ortiz and I have been teaching art in the Elizabeth Public School District since 1999. I am a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Education and have a master’s degree in The Art of Education from Mary Grove College in Detroit, Michigan. Since, then I have continued professional development in the Fines Arts and Technology at Fresno Pacific University in Fresno, California.
I am a member of the Elizabeth Education Assoc., New Jersey Education As ... read moresoc., National Education Assoc., New Jersey Art Education Assoc., N.I.U. Alumni, and "ArtSee", a local NJ community of artists that promote and showcase personal artworks.
I am enjoying teaching your child so much at Chessie Dentley Roberts Academy and am blessed to have the opportunity to work with each class either once or twice a week.
In addition, I love to travel, refurbish old furniture, paint with watercolors, weave, horseback ride, throw clay on the wheel, and throw a little dirt around my garden. I am a nature lover. I am constantly amazed by God's creations with all the beautiful colors, textures, smells, value changes, and patterns that i get to experience every day. I try to capture these elements in my works of art for the world to enjoy too.
