Hello visitors!!
I teach Talented Art I, II, III, IV and Art 1, II, III, IV at Thomas Jefferson High School. It's a Gifted and Talented school in Gretna, Louisiana.
While I spent most of my life in Dallas, Texas, I have recently moved to the high energy city of New Orleans, Louisiana. I have 3 years of Landscape Architecture studies from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La. I finished my degrees at University of North Texas in Denton, Tx. One degree is in Painting and Drawing and the 2 ... read morend is in Visual Studies (how to teach art to children). I am certified to teach K-12 in Texas and Louisiana. In order to do our part to publicize art, I am the NAHS sponsor for Thomas Jefferson High School.
My own work specializes in drawing and painting but I enjoy a wide variety of art. Travel is one of my favorite things to do. I have been throughout most of the world seeking out and studying all forms of art and architecture with the exception of China and Russia (but they are on my list!). My favorite workshop was when I spent a week staying and painting plein-aire at Ghost Ranch in New Mexico. To work and paint where O'Keeffe painted was an amazing experience.
Artsonia will help us spread the word that arts education and fostering creativity is important for everyone. Thank you for looking at our students' works and please feel free to leave a positive comment for our artists! We do hope you enjoy our work!
