Hello! I have been teaching Art Education in Wickliffe for about 8 years. I have taught at both the high school level and the elementary level.
I graduated from Wickliffe High School in 1992, then attended the University of Colorado at Boulder where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts degree. I attended graduate school at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York and continued to live in New York City after graduation.

When I lived in NYC, I was visiting The Guggenheim Museum and went over to see a favorite painting of mine. The painting is rather abstract, but depicts the "sound" that a foghorn creates. A 2nd grade class was standing by the painting and the students were asked about the meaning of the painting. One by one, the students (without worrying about being right or wrong) starting telling "their story" about the painting. Most of them knew what it was about, but many had their own idea about the painting. I thought....WOW! These kids love art, they are so imaginative, and they have no fear when it comes to talking about their ideas.....I want to teach kids how to create art! I want to be a part of all of the amazing ideas that kids create, and now I am. As one fourth grader pointed out to me...."You have the best job in the whole world." That student was so right.
