My name is Jana Ward and I am the art teacher for grades Kindergarten through Second at Berkeley Elementary School in Moncks Corner, SC - which is near the beautiful city of Charleston. Now after teaching over 27 years I can honestly say that I made the best decision of my life. Teaching children to look at the world differently and lead them to creativity is very rewarding!
Art is so important to your child and improves thinking skills, original problem solving skills, cultural and global awareness, verbal and non-verbal communication, and other skills that will help them throughout their lives. Our goals are accomplished by teaching art history, criticism and aesthetics as well as production. I am looking forward to another great year at BES and I hope to bring the amazing love of art to all of my students!
