Meet the Teachers  at Black Mountain Elementary - Golden Valley (Golden Valley, Arizona)

	Lea Shepherd I am originally from Dove Creek, Colorado. I graduated from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado with my Bachelors of Fine Arts. Before coming to Black Mountain I taught for 5 ½ years on the Navajo Indian Reservation in Pinon, AZ. As well as 1/2 year in Peach Springs, AZ. This school year of 2020-2021 will be my fifth year at Black Mountain Schools. For a grand total of eleven years in education. In my off time I work toward becoming YouTube famous on my channel: Rural Art Connection. As well as becoming the owner of my very own petting zoo. We have a Mojave Desert Tortoise, five chickens, a duck and a miniature rabbit. Art is my life and I hope to foster that love for creation in my Art students. In these trying times having an outlet to funnel fears, anxieties, curiosities and creativity are essential.
