	Sarah Kitchen My name is Sarah Kitchen and I have been teaching since 2004. In 2003 I graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Art Education and in 2012 I received my Master’s Degree from Wayne State University. I have always enjoyed the arts and create my own artwork whenever possible. Nancy Jenkins MRS. NANCY JENKINS DETROIT COUNTRY DAY SCHOOl MIDDLE SCHOOL ART GRADES 4th-5th ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: It has been a pleasure to have taught at the School for over 38 years. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree and have completed a Masters in Art Education. We follow the 8 Studio Habits of Mind. CLASS OBJECTIVES: Each student should have an opportunity to have an enriching art experience with a balanced “four-part sequential” curriculum: • Fine Art Studio: hands-on art activities exploring different media and methods • Academic Art: art vocabulary, elements of design and art history research • Project-Based Learning: integrating the arts across the various disciplines • Technology: computer-based art lessons for all three levels CLASS RESPONSIBILITIES: • To have a positive attitude, be willing to try new things, and give 100% • To be responsible for finishing assignments on time • To arrive to class on time and prepared • To be a team player and a team leader • To be respectful and cooperative to the teacher and classmates GRADING: It is my hope that the artists take pride in their work and reach their own level of success.
