Sarah Shumaker
Mrs. Shumaker is in her 11th year of teaching art for in Plain Local Schools at both Avondale and Middlebranch Elementary Schools.
Before Plain Local, she taught kindergarten and first grade in Arizona, Conotton Valley, and Dover. She left full-time teaching to be a full-time mom for a while, and worked on the side part-time as an art instructor, K-12 tutor and home instruction teacher, community education instructor, and web designer. Mrs. Shu grew up in Stark County -- and graduated from Kent State University many moons ago. She has a M.A.Ed from the University of Phoenix (the original one - in Phoenix, Arizona).
Mrs. Shumaker is an award-winning professional artist and exhibits regularly in the Canton Arts District and NE Ohio. Her work is featured in two publications, Stark Arthology and Anderson Creative's Annual Catalog.
