Mirena Suarez
My name is Ms. Mirena Suarez, I have been teaching Visual Arts to students K-12th for several years now, and all I can say is that I love what I do!
As a Visual Arts teacher, my goal is to make the art room a place where every student can strive to achieve their personal best. I also want my students to learn and to experience different artistic media and artistic styles, but most importantly, I want them to learn to enjoy the process of creating artworks to express themselves. The purpose of this online ... read more gallery at Artsonia is to showcase the artworks produced in my Art class. At the end of this academic year, I want my students to have at least one artwork (his/her best piece) that they can be proud of, published here.
Visual Arts is a very important subject, here's why: it is been proven that early exposure to Visual Arts, Music, or Drama, promotes activity in the brain; Arts help children understand other subjects much more clearly, from Math and Science, to Language Arts and Geography; participating in art activities helps children gain the tools necessary for understanding human experience, adapting to, and respecting others' ways of working and thinking, developing creative problem-solving skills, and communicating thoughts and ideas in a variety of ways.
