Mrs. McCombs
Being new at Heartland Elementary School this year, I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself and hopefully show my passion for the arts and teaching. I recently graduated from Asbury University, with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education; this is not only my first year at Heartland but my first official year as a full time teacher. With this said, I have a pretty diverse arts background, between taking art classes since I was in elementary school myself all the way through college, to teaching a ... read morend implementing an after school art program at a elementary school near my home in Grayson County, KY. Currently, I live with my husband, James, who works as a school custodian in Breckinridge County, and we have three turtles, a leopard Gecko, and two goldfish. I love to travel and visit various art museums around the country and hopefully one day the world, but my favorite place to visit is St. Louis, Missouri because of their amazing Art and the zoo. This year in art, I hope to inspire my students to think about the world of art, not just visual, and gain a better understanding of how much our world depends on the creative thinking of others. I want them to explore new concepts and ideas, generate new possibilities, dare to dream, and soar above what is already expected; creating the unexpected! My goal is to ensure every student I meet and work with knows and believes, they are an amazing artist!
