Mari Newton
I have been teaching at Vincent Elementary School for 20 years. I was the first art teacher hired at my school. Each student at Vincent Elementary School (Pre-School-5th Grade) comes to art class one time a week. I am always looking for ways to improve my program and expose my students to the arts. In 2005 a local artist, my students, and I used the walls of the art room to paint art history. We also have a school art show every winter and we celebrate the arts during Fine Arts Week every spring. We always have a really fun time in art learning about different artists and using a variety of art materials and ideas.
