Hi! I 'm Shelly. I own and run Washington PA. best kept secret ART QUEST ART SCHOOL. My husband, Patrick and I work together, we are currently creating Walt Disney's Comic and Stories. They are printed in over 40 different languages. We've been doing that for the past 13 years. Our work has just been inducted into a pop culture museum in Baltimore, Md. We are all born creative, but if we neglect to develop and strengthen these skills, our creativity becomes inhibited. By assisting and encouraging a child's creativity, you set the stage for endless opportunities for that child's imagination. A healthy imagination not only creates a resourceful and productive individual, but it also builds self-esteem, which is an important tool that will be used for the rest of that child's life. When a child creates a work of art, they are not just drawing a picture, they are also creating aspects of self-importance, individuality and engaging in self-expression.
I just love working with young minds, they are so creative. I like to get them into my art studio before they get brain washed with rules and I need to deprogram them!
Through art, children discover that true development is experiential: it?s something you do. Children nurtured through the arts are better prepared to become adults who enhance the cultural and social resources of their community.

I have to be doing expressive things or I am not happy so thats one of the reasons I have opened my studio to young artist, the other reason is parents kept saying "would you please teach my child art?" pleazzzzzz...
I dont like drawing typical things , I like dragons and fairies and all sorts of stuff as you can see from my picture with my pet gargoyle!
