Sarah Gindville
Hello and welcome to Woodrow Wilson’s Student Online Artsonia Gallery!
My name is Ms. Gindville and I am the art teacher here at Woodrow Wilson Primary. There are a lot of changes taking place in the art room this year and I am very excited to have the opportunity to let you watch it all happen right along with us!
This is my second year at Woodrow Wilson and third year in the PSD 150 school district. I started my career here in Peoria working at both Von Steuben and Lincoln middle schools teaching a ... read morert. I realized that teaching younger children was something that I was really interested in and made the move to Woodrow after interviewing with Mr. Montgomery, our principal, and have never looked back.
I graduated from Trinity Christian College in December of 2009 and have been teaching ever since! I majored in Art and minored in Education, Art History, and Art Studio. While in college, I was teaching at the Beverly Art Center in Chicago teaching a wide range of classes. A few classes included computer art, ceramics, pre-art (3-5 year olds), youth camps, teen drawing classes, pop art, photography and summer day camps for the younger students.
I also sideline as a working artist. Teaching will always come first :). I have had my work on display in several galleries in and near Chicago and also have started showing here in Peoria on occasion. I love what I do and love being able to inspire our kids to try new things and to show them how to put on paper what floats around inside of their imaginations.
Please take your time and look around the site! Talk to your artists about the projects that are up and about what they are currently working on in class. They love showing me their knowledge when we run into each other in the hallways so I encourage you to take part in that as well! Happy Looking!
