Meet Mary McGaw

Biography
Before graduating with honors from T.L. Hanna High School in Anderson, South Carolina, Ms. McGaw attended the Clemson University Summer Scholars program - "Explorations in Architecture", the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities Summer Academy at Furman University, and completed an intensive pre-professional program of study in visual arts at The Fine Arts Center of Greenville County in downtown Greenville, South Carolina. Her college experience began close to home at Clemson University, in Clemson, South Carolina, but would soon take her abroad to study the arts and humanities in Italy. Taking advantage of a Disney Professional Internship opportunity, she also spent a semester working at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. She is a Clemson University alumna (class of 2005) holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts - Drawing Concentration.
Upon moving to New York City, Ms. McGaw worked as a photographer's assistant to the renowned photographer Harvey Lloyd. She then went on to serve as the Operations Associate for Deutsch Inc., a full service integrated advertising and digital agency located in Chelsea, until becoming one of the 8% of the more than 10,000 applicants accepted into the June 2010 (Cohort 20) New York City Teaching Fellows program, whose mission is "to recruit and prepare high-quality, dedicated individuals to become teachers who raise student achievement in the New York City classrooms that need them most."

Most recently Ms. McGaw completed a master's degree program at Pace University (class of 2012) graduating with a Master of Science in Teaching - Students with Disabilities extension. She holds an additional professional certificate from the New York State Education Department in Visual Arts.
