Biography
Hi Boys and Girls, Parents, Family and Friends,
Music and Art have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.
On the Visual Arts side, my mother and father are both very creative in Recycled Art, crafting, sewing, woodworking, writing poetry, and finding creative solutions by using what they have available. My Aunt Diane McCleary is a wonderful artist in many mediums and has given pencil portrait demonstrations at our school Art Fair in past years. My sister, Renae, has learned the art of stained glass and beading as well as many other art techniques that make us all proud. I have always loved sewing, drawing, painting ceramics, and calligraphy. My husband, Len, designed and drafted plans for a new building at his high school when he was a teenager and enjoys action photography as his current source of income. My daughter, Jaclyn, likes to sew clothing and made her homecoming, prom and graduation dresses during her senior year at York Catholic. She also enjoys making jewelry and scrap booking. At college, Jaclyn hand-pieced a quilt.
Growing up we always had some kind of music in our home. My Dad and his older sister, Jean, played Hawaiian steel guitar and accordion on the Red Lion radio station when they were young. My Mom plays piano, sings and recently re-learned techniques on the Alto Saxophone. My sister and I both took organ lessons from the time we were 7 and followed with piano and vocal lessons as we got older. My sister, Renae, works as a local DJ and continues to sing, play piano and clarinet for her own enjoyment. I was involved in any musical group and musical I could join in Middle School and High School. And I played in a duo of organ and drums from 5th grade through High School. I love to sing, play any keyboard instrument, glockenspiel, and percussion. I am enjoying playing the clarinet and sax with the St. Joseph School Band on occassion! I also love the sound of any bass instrument, especially brass. My husband, Len, taught himself to play guitar when he was a teenager and still enjoys playing today. My daughter, Jaclyn, loves to sing and perform in plays and musicals. She taught herself how to play the piano and loves to try any instrument that comes her way. My entire family continues to play and enjoy music to this day! I enjoy combining all the arts when teaching various classes and camps at DreamWrights Youth and Family Theatre.
I have been blessed to have family, extended family, friends, our principal, and St. Joe's staff that support the arts and continue to inspire me to use the gifts and talents the Lord has given me to teach children and glorify His name.
Thank you all for your support of the arts programs at St. Joseph School!
With a song in my heart,
Mrs. Tammy Cobosco
