Biography

Art is an important part of our school environment here at Indian Lake Central School. Art of all sorts decorates the walls of ILCS; including murals on walls, chairs, and even doors! In fact- the whole school environment is alive with art! Art helps share thoughts, ideas and feelings, and brings us together as a community.

As a teacher of students in grades PK-12, I see art as an expression of student individuality and personality. Art gives students an outlet of expression that is essential to their creative future. Art improves children's imagination; challenges student's thinking, widens their perspective, improves brain function, and is one of the few ways we can reach our visual learners. In the wider world the arts are increasingly growing in fields such as technology, film and television; and provide many career possibilities for our students.
