Biography

I have been our school's librarian for eighteen years, which I do four days a week, and I'm starting my eighth year teaching art one day a week. I love it! I really like being able to share a book or teach about an artist in library class and then do an art project to go along with that lesson in art class. Our students come to art only once every other week. I try to choose projects that can be finished in one 40-minute session, although some projects do carry over to the next art class. Artsonia is an awesome resource for all kinds of art projects! Thanks to all the teachers who take the time to share their lesson plans and students' artwork.

My husband and I have three grown children, one in Kansas City, one in Omaha, and one in Louisiana. We are also the proud grandparents of two sweet little girls! We have a beautiful parakeet named Sundance. Besides working out art projects for my students, I enjoy cooking, gardening, quilting, reading, genealogy, and spending time with my family.

I'm excited about the artwork that the students at Timmerman School do...not only in the art room, but also in their classrooms and during after school activities. I am proud to include as many of these pieces as possible, and hope to always give credit to the teachers who led the kids in these projects.
