Biography

I studied art at the University of Massachusetts where I received a B.A. in Graphic Design. I like oil pastels, watercolors, colored pencils and pencil or pen and ink. I paint landscapes & farms, portraits & dancers. I also do graphic design and have been the layout editor of several yearbooks and the yearbook advisor at my previous school.

As an art teacher, I teach projects, often based on learning about famous artists or styles, to my elementary students grades K-4 and build in lots of times for choice. For grades above grade 5 I follow a T.A.B. (Teaching for Artistic Behavior) approach. This method teaches students to navigate the art studio independently as an artist would. Students learn how to set-up and take care of materials, how to develop ideas, and are the drivers of their own individual projects.
