Biography

I’m an enthusiastic Art Educator, art historian, artist, mom, and military spouse. I provide a choice-based art experience that empowers scholars to explore their creativity. Nothing makes me happier than guiding young artists as they discover their unique artistic passions in the art room!

I hold a BA in Professional Art and an MA in Art History. I served as a long-term substitute art teacher and instructed for an after-school art program for several years before obtaining my teaching certificate. I taught middle school Art in San Antonio for 3 years before joining the John Adams Academy family.

In my choice-based Art room, scholars engage in a child-centered experience that promotes independence, accountability, critical thinking, and ownership of their learning.

The “Big 3” rules in my Art room are:
