Biography

I am an artist, educator, proud Kansas Citian, nature lover and coffee enthusiast. I love color and design and truly believe all of life is a canvas to be beautified.

I am a proud graduate of Missouri State University for my B.S.Ed in Fine Arts (2011) and my M.S.Ed in Curriculum (2020) with an emphasis in Trauma-Safe Learning Spaces.

I have been lucky enough to teach art since 2011. I previously taught for 2 years at a K-12 rural MO school and for 11 years at a rural Kansas K-5 school. In 2024 I moved my career closer to home, starting at Line Creek Elementary in the Park Hill School District of Kansas City, MO.

I believe art teaches us to see the the beauty in the world, ourselves and others. By practicing and developing our artistic skills we learn to problem-solve, think critically, non-judgmentally observe, and seek improvement. Art helps us to practice mindfulness as we engage in the creative process.
