Biography

My name is Michaela Kraemer and I am originally from Slovakia (former Czechoslovakia) and I have just transferred here to Volusia Pines Elementary in 2020 from an all online virtual teaching assignment with Volusia Online Learning where I taught full time 2D High School Art Course as well as HS Biology as I taught science for 5 years prior as well. I loved virtual teaching from home, however I have missed the in-person interaction teachers can only get to experience in a real class environment. I love teaching and have always loved art, completed my Art K-12 Certification in 2015. As a child I used to paint bright paintings with palms and beaches in hot, neon colors as an escape from the dreary, cold and always "cloudy with a chance of rain" climate I grew up in. I got inspired to continue to pursue art as a career when my first real "Work of Art" I drew in an after-school art club function won a second place in a national competition “Art Youth of Slovakia”, and was exhibited at Zichie Palace old historic district of Bratislava. I lived in Florida since 1996 and fell in love with the nature and weather here. I still am keenly inspired by all the beauty and art around me and I always admired all master artists like Munch, Picasso, Monet, Van Gogh, Salvador Dali, Marc Chagall that opened my eyes to all the possibilities and excitement art has to offer.
Artwork here (my portrait) @venlydraws was painted by my daughter Julia who is an amazing artist and my pride and joy. I have been fostering love of drawing in her since the time of her own stick figures and I could never imagine just how amazing and uniquely her own her art style would turn out to be.
