Meet Todd Donovan
from Northside Christian Elementary School
St. Petersburg, Florida
Biography
Mr. Donovan has spent his entire life active in the visual and performing arts. As a child, Mr. Donovan studied privately with artist Judy Evanoff and concentrated on watercolor. As a young teen, Mr. Donovan was an apprentice at R & S Ceramics and spent six years learning the craft. He learned stage craft from Dr. Winkleman and Opera Workshops he attended throughout college. Mr. Donovan has designed and built sets for opera, musical theater, and church productions. His latest contribution was with Opera Orlando's production of Don Giovanni. He is actively involved in graphic design.
Mr. Donovan received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from Eckerd College, a Master's of Arts Degree in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary and a Master's of Arts Degree in Vocal Performance from The University of South Florida.
Mr. Donovan pursued education courses through St. Petersburg College and the University of South Florida.
An avid vocalist, Mr. Donovan has sung major opera roles with St. Pete Opera, Opera Tampa, Opera Orlando, Winter Opera St. Louis and has been a featured soloist with the Classical Music Festival in Eisenstadt Austria, for seven seasons.
Mr. Donovan won the Oxnard Gold Medal, the Johnny Mercer Award and $10,000 prize at the American Traditions Vocal Competition at the Savannah Music Festival.

He was accepted and awarded a scholarship to attend Writers in Paradise in 2016 and worked with Laura Lippman, New York Times best selling author.
Mr. Donovan is pleased to have just joined the faculty at Northside Christian Elementary School.
