Biography

Hey there! I am in my 9th year as an art teacher and couldn't be more excited! In my classroom, the students are responsible for generating their own project ideas, independently planning and practicing skills, and completing work on their own. We are a student-led classroom! It is my belief that a child’s artwork does not need to look like an adult’s artwork. My job as an art teacher is to facilitate higher level thinking, lead group and individual critiques and demonstrations, and give open-ended problems for the students to solve independently. I want to make a difference in children’s lives both educational and personally by providing a safe, and positive classroom environment that they are excited to visit. I enjoy seeing students understand new material (the “light bulb moment”) and working through problems. :)
