Biography

Greetings artists,

My name is Jess Silk and I have loved art my entire life. As a student I went to Bel Air, Highview, Irondale, and the University of Minnesota for my bachelor's and master's degrees. My favorite types of art to make are ceramics (clay), mosaics, and book binding. I ride my bicycle to school and in my spare time I love to camp, cook, dance, and learn about plants, animals, and fungi.

It has been my pleasure to work in the Mounds View District for over 15 years. Watching the kindergartners at Pike Lake learn, grow, and make beautiful art makes me look forward to working as a teacher each and every day. Thanks to my students for the smiles, hugs, and high-fives! Thank you to family members for supporting and encouraging your student's love of art. Pike Lake students and families are the absolute best!
