"ANCORA IMPARO (I AM STILL LEARNING)." --MICHELANGELO at age 87

Welcome!! I am Janice Spell and I go by "Lynne". I've been teaching K-5 Art at Roseboro Elementary (formerly Charles E. Perry) since 1991. My full time position is split between Salemburg Elementary and Roseboro Elementary. I serve Salemburg Elementary Monday-Wednesday and Roseboro Elementary Thursday and Friday each week. This has been my only teaching position since graduating from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree concentrating in ceramics (pottery). Originally I am from Greenville, NC where I graduated from J.H. Rose High School in 1986. Growing up as an only child is when I began creating, sometimes "sculpture" with left over grass clippings on a freshly mowed lawn, sometimes "ceramics" with mud from the ditch, and sometimes "Fashion Design" for Barbie from Dad's handkerchiefs and Mom's lingerie. I don't have any biological children but have been so blessed to have had a personal part in the lives of many of my students whom I love as if my own. I also have 4 "cat children" putting me very close to an official classification as a "crazy cat lady". I have many interests and favorites that bring me a lot of joy including teaching children; reading; writing poetry; listening to music of all kinds; drinking LOTS OF COFFEE; creating art; watching "Big Bang Theory", "Judge Judy", and "Criminal Minds"; as well as worshiping with my Corinth Baptist and Freedom Biker Church families.

"I LOVE THESE LITTLE PEOPLE; AND IT IS NOT A SLIGHT THING WHEN THEY, WHO ARE SO FRESH FROM GOD, LOVE US."
