Biography

Hi Families :)

Marzolf Primary has been my home for the past several years. I have gotten to know many of the families here. So I am sharing with you some fun information about me and the boring stuff about my credentials.

When I'm not at school I love hanging out my dog Duke. We take lots of walks. Our favorite place is my friend's farm where he can roam free and maybe chase a cat or two. I love coffee but I also like a good chai and green tea latte. Whichever I have it always needs to be hot, even in the summer!!! My favorite thing to teach about is definitely colors. They work together in such an interesting way. Cool colors (blue, green, and purple) are some of my favorites. Traveling is one of my favorite things to do with my friends. Different cultures offer many unique traditions and a new way of life. Each experience allows me to bring some first hand experience to the classroom.

Here at Marzolf Primary, I teach Kindergarten - 3rd grade. We are gradually entering into the technology world. Our 2nd and 3rd grade are working to add to their digital portfolios. I received my undergrad from California University of PA. I also have my Masters in Art Education from Boston University.

From 6th -9th grade I took art classes at the Carnegie Museum of Art in their Saturday classes. From there I was awarded a scholarship to Carnegie Mellon University for their pre-college art classes. I also worked with the Carnegie Museum's family programs for 6 years.

Marzolf has been a true home to me these past years and especially more recently. It is the big school with an even bigger heart! In the special areas we get to see these children grow up. It is quite sad when they leave us for the Elementary School. On the other hand we are able to become very well acquainted with the students and their families. This site is just one way for your family to get an better idea of what we do here in the art room!!
