Biography

Hi! I am the art teacher at St. Francis de Sales School in Newark, Ohio. I teach traditional art once a week to kindergarten through eighth grade. In addition, I teach a digital art/media class to fourth through eighth grade as well. I look for inspiration wherever I go and teach my students to do the same.

I believe the arts play a vital role in educating the whole child. It's important to allow students time to be creative and teach them art appreciation from an early age. I try to expose the students to different mediums and techniques, giving them tools they may not have access to at home. I encourage children to be creative while at the same time embracing their mistakes. Through this, they also learn perseverance and patience.

Through the Artsonia community, my hopes are to give the students a sense of pride in what they create and to build excitement around their artwork. In addition, Artsonia will give parents the opportunity to share their child's creations with family and friends while at the same time earning money for new art supplies and resources.
