Zentangles

The Zentangle method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. We call these patterns, tangles. You create tangles with combinations of dots, lines, simple curves, S-curves and orbs. There is no right or wrong to Zentangle art. It can also increase focus and creativity. Artists have used repeating patterns in their artwork for centuries and across all cultures. We viewed examples of art from many different countries. Next, the students created a Zentangle design using the first letter of their first name. We also discussed using a variety of patterns, lines, colors and the importance of good craftsmanship.
