5th grade Watercolor Winter Landscapes

Our 5th grade artists learned about creating perspective and dimension in a 2-D piece of artwork by using shadows and lines. They also observed famous artist landscape and learned a little about the history of landscapes and the Hudson river school painters in our area. They first water colored their winter background using cool colors or warm colors and then drew their birch trees and shaded them with a black watercolor as well. Finally, they added any details or other shadows as well to make the picture look realistic.
