3rd Grade Op Art Weaving

3rd Grade Artists created these works after observing paintings by the famous optical illusion artists Bridget Riley and Victor Vasarely. Students were challenged to use lines, shapes, and colors like these artists to create an illusion of 3-dimensional space on a flat surface, except with the added challenge of…WEAVING! Students used problem solving skills while creating a small prototype of their weaving, before creating these final works. Notice how color was used to create pattern and rhythm in their work.
