Students in 4th and 5th grade at Eastlake Elementary school created landscapes for their Color unit. Students in 4th grade created an abstract, patterned landscape of trees and chose a color palette for their background. While they could have used any colors they wanted, many chose to use either Warm colors (reds, oranges and yellows) or Cool colors (blues, greens and purples). Students in 5th grade focused on creating a sense of foreground, middleground and background. When they were ready to color, they applied the element of Color value by creating a blend of each color from light to dark.
