1st Grade Pinch Pots!

1st graders learned how to make a pinch pot using earthenware clay. They carved patterns and textures using clay hand building tools. After they were bisque-fired, artists painted their pinch pots with colored underglazes (mixing their own secondary colors). Finally, I dipped them in a food/drink safe glaze and fired them in the kiln one last time.
