"Our School Quilt" is an art collaborative art lesson where each student will play an active role in both creating and arranging a paper quilt to represent the students at North Scituate Elementary School. Each student designed a square for the paper quilt and then decided upon where it should be placed within the quilt. Inspired by Elizabeth "Libs" Elliott and her use of technology to generate her quilt designs, the students acted as the generators for the school quilt. Students were given 4 pieces of paper (1 large square, 1 large triangle, and 2 smaller squares). Each square was a different color. Students were allowed to cut the large triangle into smaller shapes, and the 2 small squares into smaller triangles; they were not allowed to cut or fold the large square. Students were allowed to layer their shapes, but all shapes needed to stay inside the edge of the large square.
