All fall projects from Quarter 1! K-2 has learned about lines and what happens when watercolor paint meets an oil based pastel and how it repels through making line leaves. 3rd-4th grade has learned about the artist Peter Max, and symbols in order to create a self-portrait focusing on symbols and colors. Grades 5-6 learned about landscapes and complementary colors in order to complete a landscape featuring the desert, as well as learning about chalk pastel techniques and how to create depth in the landscape. Grades 7-8 has learned about mixed media art in order to create a self-portrait using a mixture of photography, collage, process art, and doodles to think outside of the box for what self-portraits can look like.
