Artists Work Together

Kindergarten and First grade students made their own circles after reading the story "The Dot" by Peter Reynolds. We practiced using new materials, cutting, and expressing our ideas. All students helped create textured, colorful painted paper to be used as a unique art supply in future projects. 2nd and 3rd graders began the year with a collaborative painting after viewing the movement and lines shown in Keith Haring's art. The kids traced one group member, filled the silhouette in with a color, then began adding many types of lines.
