2nd grade Josef Albers Abstract Art

This abstract piece is inspired by the artist Josef Albers. He does many paintings of squares, where he plays with different colors on different colors to create moods. The second graders started with squares and cut more squares out of them. They were able to layer different colors together to see what they like the best. Their artwork was required to be balanced, and they needed to use the space. They turned out pretty cute.
