About this School Project (ECC 4s/K - The ARCTIC and ART )
We first read the book The Last Polar Bear by Jean George and discussed the importance of taking care of the earth and animals. Students used alternative tools such as forks to create the texture for their polar bear's fur using homemade "puffy paint." Then they learned about how to use a dab of glue, "dot, dot, not a lot" and glued shapes that they cut to create the bear's face. What a fun way to experiment with art while connecting to Winter and are Jewish values.
