About this School Project (Kindergarten Lois Elhert Winter Tree)
Kindergartners learned about the job of an illustrator! We looked at the work of artist, author, and illustrator Lois Elhert. We read her books and studied her pictures. Then, students created colored papers with different sponge and stippling painting techniques. We cut and tore our painted papers to collage a winter snow landscape, bird, and tree trunk. Then students completed their picture by painting the pine tree top and snow. The finishing touch was to create a collage bird for our tree out of shapes.
