About this School Project (2nd grade Abstract Sky)
Students learned about the local artist, Baje Whitethorne Sr. and his landscapes. We compared his landscapes to our previous lesson with Vincent van Gogh landscapes. Both have different styles but with the same subject, landscapes. We focused on an abstract painting of his that showed use of lines, color, and simple shapes. Students began their creations with cardboard and paint to stamp a sun and a landscape. Then they used oil pastels to color.
