About this School Project (Crayon Resist Turkeys)
Students followed directions to draw a turkey. They filled each feather with a type of line or repeated shape. They drew "magic lines" in the background with white crayon. Finally, they learned how to use pan watercolors. When they painted, their wax crayon stayed visible, a process called crayon resist. Those magic white lines revealed themselves when they painted over them with watercolor.
