About this School Project (K/1 - Sevivon Sov Sov Sov )
The gan and first graders learned ROYGBIV and the color wheel in this adorable Chanukah lesson. They were encouraged to add creative facial expressions inspired by cartoon references or Hebrew letters, like those on the dreidel or in their Hebrew names. The students were also taught about adding movement lines outside their dreidels to show motion, inspired by Keith Haring’s piece called “Dance” and many of his famous works. Finally, students painted them with tempera paints in a ROYGBIV arrangement, which involved learning proper painting and clean up procedures. Of course, this lesson wouldn’t be complete without fun Chanukah music for added inspiration and to get in the holiday mood.
