About this School Project (Grade 1- Pictographs)
Students viewed Native American pictographs ( paintings on rock surfaces) and petroglyphs ( carvings on rock surfaces). The first graders looked at symbols and their meanings and then created their own versions of pictographs on torn edge brown paper. For materials they used crayons and warm color watercolors.
