About this School Project (Repousse Leaves)
5th grade artists learned about the metal-working artistic technique of repoussé. Students created a leaf rubbing and traced their image onto heavy aluminum foil using a stylus. Then, using the stylus, they tooled their leaf moving front and back, giving it depth. Artists created a background of their choice (either watercolor, tissue-paper/modge podge, or colored pencil coloring) and mounted it using foam tape.
