About this School Project (Starry Night Inspired Painting)
Students continued to learn about the artist Vincent Van Gogh this time they focused on his landscapes, particularly Starry Night. Students looked at the sky and noticed how he used the art principle of movement in his work. They painted using white and a variety of colors blending together as they created brushstrokes of various tints of color in their own painted sky. They worked hard and concentrated on creating a sense of movement in their own painting. To complete the painting they added the land part of the landscape by adding bits of black and grey to create shades and tones of color.
