About this School Project (2nd Collage Studio)
Henri Matisse described the art of collage as "drawing with scissors." In the collage studio, students enjoy creating artworks with different colors, textures, images, and shapes. Students can either cut or tear their papers to create their collage. Artists explore different glue techniques to find the one that holds their artwork together the best.
In our choice-based art studio, we learn:
· To develop craft, techniques, and artistic processes.
· Persistence through challenges.
· To generate ideas independently.
· To search for meaning within an artwork.
· To receive and provide advice, suggestions, and feedback.
· To take risks, and try something new.
· To appreciate artwork created by artists from different backgrounds, cultures, and communities.
