About this School Project (Self Portraits with Vertical, Horizontal and Diagonal Lines)
A self portrait is a an artwork that includes the artist. Students used black line to draw a head, body, arms and legs on white paper, creating a simple impression of themselves. They cut the figure out.
Students learned about vertical (standing straight and tall), horizontal (laying down) and diagonal (the slide) lines playing a game. Next, students painted a background including vertical, horizontal and diagonal lines. The figure was glued to the background, resulting in an exciting self portrait!
