About this School Project (2-A Spiders)
This fun filled spider art activity is based on the book The Spider by Canadian illustrator Elise Gravel. We built connections between science and art, by reading The Spider aloud before starting the art activity. Hopefully your second grader can tell you some fun facts about spiders. In this lesson, students explored some simple printmaking with white liquid tempera paint and string before making their spider’s symmetrical body. Next, they gave their spiders unique facial expressions and added some bendable legs made from black pipe cleaners. These spiders are so stinking cute!!!
